Argentina is the second largest country in South America. Argentina benefits from rich natural resources, a highly literate population, an export-oriented agricultural sector, and a diversified industrial base. Its population is white, mostly Spanish and Italian, and catholic.

GDP expanded by more than 8,5% in 2006, with unemployment falling and inflation remaining in single digits.

The Argentine printed media is highly developed and independent. There are more than 200 newspapers on the market. In addition the population can chose between hundreds of magazines covering all kinds of issues. Argentina’s television industry is large and influential. The productions and local programs are also seen in various Latin-American countries and Europe. Additionally the radio industry has also enlarged. At present there are 1.500 broadcasting radio stations.
